Summers are for Slowing Down
Summer is a time to rest, reflect and recharge.
Be your best inside and out with Be Well Weekly, your resource for actionable wellness tips, tools and information.
Summer is the Season to Pause, Reflect & Recharge
Summer often gets labeled as “busy season” — vacations, cookouts, family gatherings, kids’ activities, and packed weekends. But if you look closely, summer also offers an invitation we often overlook: The invitation to slow down, pause, and refill your own cup.
Think about it—longer days, warmer nights, nature in full bloom… everything around us moves at a gentler, more languid pace.
This week, I want to encourage you to lean into the natural rhythm of summer and intentionally carve out space to pause, reflect, and recharge.
🌿 3 Simple Ways to Embrace the Summer Slow-Down
1. Schedule Your “Stillness”
Block off at least one 30-minute window this week where you do nothing but sit outside — no phone, no multitasking, just being present. Listen to the birds, feel the breeze, sip something refreshing, and allow yourself to simply be.
Wellness Reminder: You don’t need to “earn” rest. Rest is productive.
2. Reflect on the Year (So Far)
We’re halfway through the year — it’s the perfect time to reflect. Ask yourself:
What am I proud of from the past six months?
What feels out of alignment?
How do I want to feel by the end of this year?
Write it down. Let summer be your midpoint reset.
3. Choose One Thing to Replenish You
Pick one activity this week that feels restorative:
A sunset walk
Reading by the pool
An outdoor yoga or sound healing session
A digital detox afternoon
Then, actually put it on your calendar.
✨ Wellness Prompt of the Week:
What would it look like to fully embrace “summer mode” in your life right now?
Summer isn’t just a season — it’s a mindset. Give yourself permission to slow down and savor it.
